  • Back Half – 2 pieces
  • Front Half – 2 pieces
  • Waistband – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing: Waistband – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the side seams, leaving an open section at the top of the left seam for the zipper closure. Stitch the inseams. Stitch the front and back crotch seams in one continuous line.
  2. Press the seam allowances for the zipper along the edges to the wrong side. Sew the zipper in from the inside with a hidden hand stitch.
  3. Fuse the interfacing to the Waistband. Stitch the waistband to the upper edges of the pants, leaving a seam allowance for the closure at the back edge of the slit. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the ends neatly; turn it right side out. Fold under the inner edge of the waistband and stitch it onto the attachment seam. Make a buttonhole at the front end of the waistband. Sew a button onto the waistband extension, matching the buttonhole position.
  4. Press the hem allowance to the wrong side and stitch it by hand.
