Additional Supplies

  • Zip
  • 1 button

Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
  • Center Front Skirt Half - 1 piece on fold
  • Back Skirt Half - 2 pieces
  • Upper Side Front Skirt Half - 2 pieces
  • Lower Side Front Skirt Half - 2 pieces
  • Waistband - 1 piece
  • From lining fabric:
  • Upper Pocket Lining - 2 pieces
  • Lower Pocket Lining - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Sew the darts on the back skirt halves and press them towards the center.
  2. Make the pockets using the upper and lower pocket linings, then join the side front skirt halves to the center front skirt half.
  3. Sew the center back seam between the zipper opening mark and the vent mark; sew the side seams. Insert the zipper.
  4. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise and stitch the short ends and the closure extension; turn out. Sew the outer half of the waistband to the upper edge of the skirt right sides together; turn under the inner half and sew it to the waistband seam. Edgestitch the waistband. Make a buttonhole and sew on the button.
  5. Hem the skirt. Press the cut-on vent facing (left back skirt half) to the wrong side along the fold line and sew it to the hem. Hem the long edge of the vent underlap (right back skirt half) as narrowly as possible. Topstitch the left back skirt half diagonally at the top of the vent, catching the underlap.
