Additional Supplies

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve – 2.5 cm. Other seams – 1.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Back Facing – 2 pieces
    • Front Facing – 4 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve Decorative Tab – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back Facing – 1 piece
    • Front Facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Back Facing and Front Facing pieces.
  2. Stitch the shoulder seams of the Back Facing and Front Facing pieces, press allowances open (you get two facing units). Place the two facing units right sides together and stitch along the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn the facing right side out, straighten, and press. Overlap the right end of the facing over the left end and baste them together within the seam allowances.
  3. Stitch along the front neckline with a loosened top thread and gather.
  4. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the garment, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  5. Sew the facing into the garment neckline, press allowances and serge.
  6. Fold the Sleeve Decorative Tabs lengthwise right sides together and stitch along the long and short edges. Turn right side out, trimming allowances at corners, straighten and press. Serge the open short edge. Topstitch the tabs according to markings on the wrong side of the sleeves.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seams, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
  8. Press the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves 1 cm to the wrong side, then another 1.5 cm and topstitch.
  9. Sew 3 buttons onto the Front Facing. Make buttonholes in the tabs and sew the remaining 2 buttons onto the sleeves.
