Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, the patterns include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance – 2.5 cm; other seams – 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center Back Yoke – 1 piece
    • Side Back Yoke – 2 pieces
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Center Front – 2 pieces
    • Side Front – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Flounce – 2 pieces
  • From contrast fabric:
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Stand Collar – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Stand Collar – 1 piece
    • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Plackets, one Stand Collar and the Cuffs.
  2. Place the Stand Collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge, starting and ending exactly at the marked neckline seam line. Clip the allowances at the curves. Turn the stand right side out and press.
  3. Press each Placket in half lengthwise, right side out. Stitch the outer side of the placket to the Center Front, pressing the allowances towards the placket. Fold under the raw edge of the inner side and topstitch it over the attachment seam.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams of the Center Front and Center Back Yoke, press the allowances towards the back and overlock. Stitch the shoulder seams of the Side Front and Side Back Yoke, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
  5. Finish the outer edge of each Flounce with a narrow double-turned hem or a narrow rolled hem. Stitch the princess seams of the front and back yoke, inserting the flounce between the pieces. Press the allowances towards the center and overlock.
  6. Stitch the yoke to the Back, press the allowances towards the yoke and overlock.
  7. Stitch the side seams, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
  8. Stitch the outer Stand Collar to the neckline and press the allowances towards the stand. Fold under the raw edge of the inner stand and topstitch it over the attachment seam.
  9. Overlock the sleeve seam edges separately. Stitch the sleeve seam from the armhole down to the vent mark and press the allowances open. Topstitch the vent edges 0.1 cm from the fold. Set the Sleeves into the armholes, press the allowances and overlock.
  10. Fold each Cuff in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the ends. Turn right side out and press. Stitch the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold under the allowance of the inner side and topstitch it over the attachment seam.
  11. Fold the hem of the blouse to the inside by 1 cm, then by 1.5 cm, and topstitch.
  12. Make buttonholes on the right placket and the stand; sew buttons onto the left placket. Make buttonholes and sew buttons on the cuffs.
