Introducing a chic women's sewing pattern for a fitted knit dress featuring distinct color-blocked paneling at the yoke and sleeves, creating a modern and flattering silhouette.
This versatile knit dress is perfect for a range of occasions, offering both comfort and sophisticated style:
Silhouette: a close-fitting, knee-length dress designed to hug the body's contours for a flattering shape.
Neckline: a wide, subtly curved boat neckline offers an elegant and comfortable opening.
Sleeves: Three-quarter length sleeves with a unique color-blocked panel that extends from the shoulder/yoke for a distinctive visual appeal.
Waist: Defined by a horizontal seam at the natural waist, connecting the upper and lower color-blocked body sections.
Hem: a clean, straight hemline finishing just below the knee.
Intermediate. This pattern involves working with knit fabrics, precise panel assembly, and applying knit interfacing for a polished finish.
Choose knit fabrics with a moderate degree of stretch for optimal fit and drape:
If the patterns have a double contour, the patterns include seam allowances; if the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve bottom – 2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
