CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 1.5 cm, side edges of collars – 2 cm, other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Front collar – 1 piece
    • Back collar – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

  1. Stitch darts on the front piece, press the fullness upwards.
  2. Stitch side and shoulder seams. Serge allowances and press towards the back.
  3. Stitch the sleeve seam. Serge the seam and press towards the back. Set the sleeve into the armhole. Serge allowances.
  4. Serge the lower edges of the collars. Fold allowances inwards and topstitch. Serge the side edges of the collars. Stitch the side edges of the collars. Press allowances open and topstitch, forming casings. Insert cords into the casings. Secure the ends of the cord at the neckline edge. Cut a strip 2 cm wide, equal to the length of the neckline. Attach the strip to the collar neckline to prevent stretching. Then treat as one piece. Fold the right side of the collar and the wrong side of the front and stitch the neckline. Serge the allowance. Turn the collar to the right side, create pleats along the side seams of the collar. Tie the cord.
  5. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, the bottom edge of the sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
