Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dense blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, concealed zipper. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all allowances – 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST AND FOREMOST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. On the back pieces, stitch the waist darts, press the seam allowances towards the center. Attach the lower back part to the upper back part, press the seam allowances upwards and overcast.
  3. Overcast the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark downwards, press the seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
  4. On the front pieces, stitch the bust darts, press the seam allowances upwards.
  5. Fold the front pleat piece lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the upper edge. Start stitching precisely at the marked pleat attachment seam. Turn the piece right side out, press. Attach the front pleat to the upper left front part (the front edge is longer than the pleat by the neckline seam allowance width), press the seam allowances and overcast. Lay the pleat over the front and secure it along the lower edge. Attach the lower left front part to the upper part, press the seam allowances downwards and overcast.
  6. Fold the front piece along the marked pleat fold line, right sides together, and stitch the upper edge. Start stitching precisely at the marked center seam line. Clip the neckline seam allowance at the seam, turn the piece right side out, and press.
  7. Stitch the right and left front parts together, press the seam allowances and overcast. Form the pleats on the left front and topstitch along the upper edge.
  8. Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Press the seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  9. Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings, press the seam allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the facings right sides together with the garment and stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam allowances at the curves, turn the facings to the wrong side and press. Secure the facings to the shoulder seams and the zipper tape.
  10. Stitch the sleeve seam, press the seam allowances and overcast. Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching the notches. Press the seam allowances and overcast.
  11. Overcast the hem of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
