Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper, elastic tape 2 cm wide (length is indicated on the front pattern piece).

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the dress bottom – 1.5 cm; hem allowance for the sleeve bottom – 2.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Back flounce – 1 piece
    • Front flounce – 1 piece
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back facing – 1 piece
    • Front facing – 1 piece
    • Sleeve facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back facing – 1 piece
    • Front facing – 1 piece
    • Sleeve facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the facings.
  2. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left side and overcast. Attach the back flounce to the back, press allowances upwards and overcast.
  3. Stitch darts on the front piece, press depths upwards. Attach the front flounce to the front, press allowances upwards and overcast.
  4. Attach the sleeve to the back, press allowances towards the sleeve and overcast. Attach the sleeve to the front, press allowances towards the sleeve and overcast.
  5. Overcast the left side seams separately. Stitch the left side seam from the bottom of the sleeve to the first mark and from the second mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the zipper. Stitch the right side seam, simultaneously with the sleeve edge, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  6. Stitch the facing pieces together, overcast the lower edge. Place the facing with the garment right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Turn the facing to the wrong side and topstitch, forming a casing. Thread elastic through the casing, secure.
  7. Overcast the hem allowance of the sleeve bottom, press to the wrong side and topstitch, forming a casing. Thread elastic through the casing, secure.
  8. Overcast the hem allowance of the dress bottom, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
