CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEN THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THEN THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 1.5 cm, other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back – 2 pieces
    • Side back – 2 pieces
    • Right front – 1 piece
    • Left front – 1 piece
    • Center front – 1 piece
    • Center pleat – 1 piece
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and overcast. Overcast the center back seam allowances separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper notch to the hem. Insert the invisible zipper.
  3. Attach the right front to the center front, press allowances towards the side seam and overcast. Attach the center pleat to the center front, press allowances and overcast. Stitch the dart on the left front, press allowances towards the side seam and overcast. Attach the left front to the center front, press allowances towards the side seam and overcast. Place bar tacks on the sides of the pleats, 2-3 cm from the top.
  4. Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  5. Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings, press allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the facing on the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Topstitch the allowances to the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Secure the ends of the facing to the zipper tape.
  6. Overcast the lower edge of the sleeve. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Set the sleeves into the armholes. Overcast the allowances.
  7. Cut a bias strip 4 cm wide and a length equal to the length of the lower part of the armhole + 6 cm. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place the bias strip on the armhole edge right side up, extending the ends, and stitch. Turn the bias strip to the wrong side, clip the seams, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  8. Overcast the lower edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
