FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing.
CUTTER'S MUST
SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 1.2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back facing – 2 pieces
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Front – 1 piece
- Collar – 4 pieces
- Lapel – 4 pieces
- Sleeve - 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back facing – 1 piece
- Collar – 2 pieces
- Lapel – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Stitch the outer back facing to the back, press seam allowances towards the facing.
- Fold collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the ends and outer edge. Clip seam allowances at notches, turn collar right side out, press. Fold lapel pieces right sides together, insert the collar between them and stitch along the lapel roll line, simultaneously stitching the outer side of the lapel. Turn lapel right side out, shape, press.
- Overlap the right lapel over the left and secure at the bottom edge. Stitch the collar with the lapel into the front neckline, press seam allowances and overcast.
- Overcast the inner edge of the inner back facing. Fold the facing with the back and overcast the neckline edge (start and end stitching exactly at the marked shoulder seam line). Clip seam allowances at the curve. Insert the shoulder edge of the front between the inner facing and the main back piece and stitch. Overcast seam allowances, press towards the back, turn garment right side out. Topstitch the back facing to the seam.
- Stitch the sleeve to the garment, press seam allowances towards the sleeve and overcast.
- Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press seam allowances and overcast.
- Overcast the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
