Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Stitch the darts on the back, press the fullness towards the center. Overlock the center edges separately. Stitch the seam from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press the seam allowances open, pressing the slit for the zipper. Insert the zipper.
  2. Attach the right side front to the center front. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the center. Overlock the outer edge of the front facing. Place the center front and front facing right sides together. Stitch the outer edge. Turn the facing inwards and press.
  3. Attach the right front yoke to the front. Press the seam allowance upwards. Place the right inner front yoke onto the front and stitch the neckline and corner. Turn the seam allowance of the inner yoke inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer yoke attachment. Attach the left front yoke to the left side front. Press the seam allowance upwards. Stitch the neckline and corner with the inner yoke. Trim the seam allowances, turn right side out and press. Turn the seam allowance of the inner yoke inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer yoke attachment.
  4. Overlock the outer edge of the back neckline facings. Place the facings onto the neckline and stitch. Trim the seam allowances, turn the facings to the wrong side and press. Sew the facings to the edge of the zipper tape. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the front seam allowances between the back and the back facing. Overlock the shoulder seams and press towards the back.
  5. Overlap the right front piece over the left and topstitch along the marked line. The stitching reaches the yoke.
  6. Stitch the side seams. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
  7. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and equal to the armhole length + 5cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Clip the seam allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
  8. Overlock the bottom edges of the blouse. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Stitch buttonholes and sew on buttons.
