Fabric recommendations: soft blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing.
CUTTER'S MUST
SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Cuff - 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- Belt – 1 piece
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Interface the facings with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Form and secure pleats on the sleeve according to markings.
- Stitch side seams simultaneously with sleeve seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve. Turn under the inner side of the cuff and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Stitch shoulder seams of facings, press allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the garment with the facing right sides together and stitch the neckline edge of the back and front. Clip allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn pieces right side out, straighten and press. Attach facing to shoulder seams.
- Press the bottom edge of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then by another 2 cm and topstitch.
- Fold the belt in half lengthwise, right side in, and stitch, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the belt right side out, straighten and press.
