Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: All seams 1 cm. Seam allowance at the bottom of the jacket, edge of the front opening, collar stand, and sleeve hem - 0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Left front – 1 piece
- Right front – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Placket – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- Stitch darts on the front pieces. Trim the depth with an overlocker and press downwards.
- Press the seam allowances of the longitudinal sides of the placket to the wrong side. Thread the placket through the decorative clasp and topstitch it to the left front piece according to the markings.
- Stitch the collar seam, folding the front pieces wrong sides together, press the seam allowance open. Stitch and press open the jacket shoulder seams, overlock the allowances. Clip the shoulder seam allowance on the front piece and set the collar into the back neckline, press the allowance open.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes according to the notches, press the allowances.
- Stitch the side seams simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press the allowances towards the back.
- Cut a bias strip 3 cm wide and 5 cm long. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim the allowances and turn the piece right side out. Adjust the loop length. Sew the loop to the wrong side of the right front piece according to the markings.
