Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers in two colors. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper; fusible interfacing; two buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the dress bottom – 2 cm; hem allowance for the sleeve bottom – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

  • Center back part - 2 pieces
  • Side back part – 2 pieces
  • Center front part - 2 pieces
  • Side front part – 2 pieces
  • Sleeve — 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Pocket bag – 4 pieces
• From main fabric 1:
  • Lower front part – 1 piece
  • Lower back part – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

1. Interface the facing pieces.
2. Stitch the princess seams on the back pieces. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the center. Overlock the allowances of the center seam separately. Stitch the allowances from the zipper mark downwards. Press open the allowances, pressing the zipper opening. Insert the zipper. Attach the lower back part. Overlock the allowance and press it upwards.
3. Stitch the dart on the front. Press the dart depth upwards. Stitch the center front seam. Overlock the allowance and press it to the left side.
4. Place the pocket bags on the right side of the center and side front pieces and stitch. Overlock the stitching seam on the side part. Stitch the princess seams of the front, simultaneously stitching the pocket bag edges. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the center. Stitch the upper and lower front parts. Overlock the allowance and press it upwards.
5. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
6. Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings, press the allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the dress with facings right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Stitch the neckline edge. Attach the facing to the shoulder seams and the zipper tape.
7. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock the allowance and press it towards the back. Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching the notches. Overlock the allowances.
8. Overlock the hem allowance of the dress and sleeve, press it to the wrong side and topstitch. Sew decorative buttons onto the front pocket.
