Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- Fuse interfacing to the cuffs and front yoke.
- On the back piece, stitch with a loosened thread between the marks and gather. Attach the back yoke to the back, press seam allowances upwards.
- Form and secure the inverted pleat on the front. Stitch with a loosened thread along the upper edge of the front and gather. Attach the front yoke to the front, clipping into the corners, press seam allowances upwards.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the blouse, press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the inner yokes, press seam allowances open. Place the inner yokes with the blouse right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn inner yokes to the wrong side, press. Turn under the lower edges of the inner yokes and topstitch into the seam of attaching the outer yokes.
- Make a slit on the sleeve along the marked line. Cut a bias strip from the main fabric, 4 cm wide and a length equal to double the slit length + 4 cm. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise and press. Press outer seam allowances towards the center. Finish the sleeve slit with the bias strip.
- Set the sleeve into the open armhole. Press seam allowances towards the sleeve and overlock.
- Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Along the lower edge of the sleeve, stitch with a loosely tensioned thread and gather.
- Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short sides and the step. Begin stitching strictly at the marked line for attaching the cuff to the sleeve. At the mark, clip seam allowances, turn the cuff out and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the bottom of the sleeve. Turn under the inner side of the cuff and topstitch into the attaching seam.
- Press the bottom edge of the garment twice by 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Overlock buttonholes on the cuffs. Sew on buttons.
