Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and the top allowance of the pocket – 1.5 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Front – 2 pieces
- Placket – 4 pieces
- Sleeve - 2 pieces
- Collar stand – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Placket – 2 pieces
- Collar stand – 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the plackets, outer collar stand, and cuffs.
- Overlock the top allowance of the pocket. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Fold the pocket allowances inwards and press. Place the pocket on the left front and topstitch according to the markings.
- Fold the plackets in pairs right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Turn the pieces right side out and press. Fold the front and placket wrong sides together and stitch (stitching seam on the right side). Turn the placket to the right side, overlock the seam, and press the placket. Fold the front pieces wrong sides together and stitch along the placket attachment seam from the bottom to the upper mark.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the blouse, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Form and secure the pleats at the neckline of the front. Fold the collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge, starting and ending the stitch exactly at the collar stand attachment line. Turn the collar stand right side out and press. Attach the outer collar stand to the neckline, fold under the open edge of the inner collar stand and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Stitch the right side seam, press allowances towards the back and overlock. Overlock the allowances of the left side seam separately. Stitch the left side seam from the mark to the bottom and a 4 cm section from the armhole downwards. Insert the concealed zipper.
- Overlock the sleeve seams separately. Stitch the seams from the top to the slit mark. Press allowances open. Stitch along the slit 0.2 cm from the edge. Along the sleeve cap, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Along the bottom of the sleeve, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather.
- Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and stitch the ends and corner of the cuff. Turn the cuff right side out and press. Attach the upper cuff to the sleeve, fold the inner allowance inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam of the upper of the cuff. Set the sleeves into the armhole. Overlock the allowance.
- Overlock the bottom of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Secure the loose placket to the front in two-three places with blind stitches.
- Overlock buttonholes on the cuffs. Sew buttons onto the cuffs and front.
