Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem allowance for the bottom and vertical edges of the flying panels – 1.5 cm; sleeve hem allowance — 2 cm; all other seams 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back - 2 pieces on fold
- Front - 1 piece on fold
- Left upper front — 1 piece
- Right upper front - 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- Stitch darts on front pieces, press seam allowances upwards.
- Stitch side and shoulder seams of the lower front and back pieces. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch side and shoulder seams of the upper front and back pieces. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back. Overlock, fold inwards, and topstitch the outer edges of the flying panels.
- On the right flying front, lay and secure pleats. Place the right front over the left and secure along the neckline edge.
- Place the lower right side up onto the right side of the upper and face the neckline. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the upper to the right side. Align armhole edges and continue to treat as one piece.
- Overlock the lower edge of the sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Set in sleeves. Overlock seam allowances.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide, with a length equal to the length of the lower armhole + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge on the right side and stitch, fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece.
- Overlock the lower edge of the inner, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
