- Trim strip – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the respective pieces.
- Place the neck facing pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked seam line for attachment. Clip seam allowances at curves. Turn the finished facing right side out and press.
- Stitch the waist, shoulder, and bust darts on the back and front. Press the depths of the shoulder and waist darts towards the center of the respective pieces, and the depths of the bust darts upwards. Stitch the center back seam of the back, press seam allowances to the left side and serge.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Fold the trim strip pieces in pairs and stitch the outer edge. Turn the pieces right side out and press. Attach the outer trim strip to the front, fold the seam allowance of the inner trim strip inwards and topstitch.
- Attach the upper facing to the neckline, turn under the raw edge of the lower facing and topstitch into the seam of the upper facing attachment.
- Stitch and serge the sleeve seam. Serge the lower edge of the sleeve, inserting elastic under the serger stitch between the notches. Fold the sleeve hem allowance inwards and topstitch, stretching the elastic. Set the sleeves into the armholes. Press and serge the seam allowances.
- Turn up the hem of the garment twice to the wrong side by 1 cm and topstitch.
- On the right front, make buttonholes; on the left, sew on buttons.
