Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the shoulder darts on the center back. Press the dart excess towards the center seam.
- Stitch the princess seams of the back, inserting the bias binding, pressed in half lengthwise, between the pieces. Press seam allowances towards the center and serge.
- Serge the center seam of the back separately on each piece, simultaneously serging the slit allowance. Stitch the center seam of the back from the top to the slit mark, press seam allowances open, pressing the slit. Stitch a decorative and securing stitch along the slit 0.1 cm from the edge.
- Stitch the princess seams of the front, inserting the bias binding, pressed in half lengthwise, between the pieces. Press seam allowances towards the center and serge.
- Bind the lower edges of the flounces with bias binding. Serge the upper edge of the lower flounce. Place the upper flounce on the lower flounce and topstitch into the binding seam. Place the flounce on the front, secure along the edges, and treat as one piece thereafter.
- Stitch the right shoulder seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Bind the neckline with bias binding. Stitch the left shoulder seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Press the bias binding open. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the trim strip with the armhole edge on the right side and stitch. Clip the seam allowances. Fold the trim strip to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Serge the left side seams separately. Stitch the left side seam from the zipper mark downwards, press seam allowances open, pressing the zipper slit. Insert the zipper. Stitch the right side seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Bind the lower edge of the dress with bias binding.
- Create a bow from bias binding and sew it to the neckline of the front.
Tip: The dress is recommended to be worn with a thin belt matching the bias binding.
