Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to relevant pieces.
- Stitch the back princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center, serge.
- On both back pieces, fuse the vent from the wrong side. Serge the center edges separately on each piece. On the right side, mark the center seam line (vent fold line). Stitch the center back edge from the zipper mark to the vent corner. Clip the vent seam allowance corner. Press the center seam seam allowances open, pressing the zipper opening, press the vent to the left side. Press the right side of the vent 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch. Topstitch the vent seam allowances along the top with a machine stitch. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the front princess seams, be sure to clip the seam allowances, press towards the center, and serge.
- Attach front yoke_1 to the front, press seam allowances towards the yoke and serge.
- Place collar pieces right sides together in pairs and stitch the outer edges. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn collars right side out, press. Attach the collar to the neckline between the mark and the corner. Place the front neck facing onto the front (collar is between the main fabric and the facing) and stitch the neckline edge. Clip seam allowances, turn facing to the wrong side, press.
- Attach front yoke_2 with one seam to the collar and front yoke_1. Press seam allowances towards the armhole, serge.
- Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Serge the outer edge of the back neck FACINGs. Place the dress with the facing right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Before reaching 5 mm from the edges of the concealed closure, fold back the facing and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the seam allowances along the zipper and pin to the neckline edge over the facing. Stitch the neckline edge, starting and ending the stitch exactly at the marked shoulder seam line. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn pieces out and press. Secure the facing to the zipper tape.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the front between the back and the back facing. Press seam allowances, serge. Turn the facing to the wrong side.
- Stitch the sleeve edge, press seam allowances and serge. Set sleeves into the armhole, matching notches. Press seam allowances and serge. Serge the lower sleeve edge, press seam allowances to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Serge the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
