Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch darts on the BACK PANEL. Press seam allowances towards the center.
  2. On both BACK PANEL pieces, duplicate the vent from the wrong side. Overlock the center edges separately on each piece. On the right side, mark the center seam line (vent fold line). Stitch the center edge of the BACK PANEL from the ZIPPER mark to the vent corner. Clip the vent seam allowance corner. Press open the center seam allowances, pressing the ZIPPER opening, press the vent to the left side. Press the right side of the vent 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch. Topstitch the vent allowances along the top with a machine stitch. Insert the ZIPPER.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the BACK PANEL. Stitch side seams, leaving a 5 cm unstitched section of the left side seam from the bottom edge.
  4. Stitch darts and seams on the LINING. Fold the bottom edge of the LINING twice by 1 cm and topstitch.
  5. Finish the armholes with the LINING in 2 steps: first the FRONT PANEL armhole, then the BACK PANEL armhole. Secure the LINING to the main fabric along the neckline edge and the center edge of the FRONT PANEL. Then treat the pieces as 1 piece.
  6. Place the TRIM STRIP on the FRONT PANEL with the right side facing inwards and stitch. Fold to the right side and press. Stitch the FRONT PANEL pieces up to the mark indicating the slit. The stitching runs along the TRIM STRIP. Press open the TRIM STRIP. Topstitch the inner edges of the TRIM STRIP with a stitch in the attaching seam from the right side.
  7. Along the neckline edge from the center to the mark, make a stitch with loosely tightened stitches and gather.
  8. Make loop fastenings. Fold the COLLAR in half lengthwise and finish the short edges, inserting the loops, starting and ending the stitch strictly at the marked COLLAR line. Cut a piece for the bridge 8 cm long, 3 cm wide. Fold the piece lengthwise with the right side facing inwards and stitch. Turn the bridge out, centering the seam. Wrap the COLLAR with the bridge and attach the bridge allowances to the COLLAR. Insert the outer COLLAR into the neckline. Fold the allowance of the inner COLLAR inwards and topstitch into the attaching seam of the upper COLLAR, leaving an unstitched section in the center. Hand stitch the center section.
  9. Hand stitch the LINING to the ZIPPER.
  10. Finish the bottom edge of the garment with decorative BIAS BINDING. Stitch the section of the side seam.
  11. Sew on buttons. The dress is recommended to be worn with a decorative belt.
