Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on the upper and lower BACK PANELS. Press darts towards the center seam. Stitch darts on the lower FRONT PANEL, press depths towards the center of the piece.
- Stitch the upper and lower BACK PANELS together, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge.
- Serge the center edge of the BACK PANEL separately on each piece. Stitch the center edge of the BACK PANEL from the ZIPPER mark to the bottom, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Serge the SEAM ALLOWANCE of the outer edge of the FLOUNCE with a narrow rolled hem. Along the upper edge, create and secure pleats according to markings. Place the FLOUNCE on the lower FRONT PANEL and secure along the side and upper edges (the FLOUNCE is shorter than the front by the hem allowance width).
- Create and stitch pleats on the right upper FRONT PANEL and on the LINING of the right part according to markings. Press depths downwards. Fold the main piece with the LINING right sides together and stitch the neckline edge and the lower edge. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, and press.
- Create and stitch pleats on the left upper FRONT PANEL and on the LINING according to markings. Fold the FRONT PANEL with the LINING right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, and press.
- Serge the lower edge of the BACK PANEL LINING. Fold the upper BACK PANEL with the LINING right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the pieces right side out, straighten, and press.
- Stitch the shoulder edges of the main garment and the LINING in one continuous line. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Turn the pieces right side out.
- Stitch the armhole edges. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn right side out, and press.
- Stitch the left upper and lower FRONT PANELS, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge. Place the right FRONT PANEL over the left and secure along the side seams.
- Insert the front between the LINING and the main fabric of the BACK PANEL and stitch the side edges. Serge SEAM ALLOWANCES, press towards the BACK PANEL, turn the garment right side out. Secure the BACK PANEL LINING to the main piece by stitching along the seam joining the upper and lower BACK PANELS. Stitch the center edge of the LINING to the ZIPPER tape.
- Serge the lower edge of the garment. Fold to the wrong side, press, and hand-stitch with blind stitches.
