Key Design Features

Silhouette: Fitted sheath for knit fabric with low or medium stretch.

Length: Knee length.

Neckline: Round neckline, edge overlocked, turned in and topstitched.

Sleeves: Short set-in sleeves, hem turned up and topstitched.

Front: A curved yoke across the chest, its seam topstitched 0.5 cm onto the yoke. Below the yoke the centre front edge is left open between two marks, turned in and topstitched, forming a slit-shaped keyhole. Curved princess seams run from the yoke towards the side seams at hip level.

Back: Centre back seam and princess seams from the shoulder to the hem.

Finishing: Hem turned up 1.5 cm and topstitched; for knits, use a stretch or narrow zigzag stitch and a twin needle for the hems.

Sewing Instructions

Stitch the front princess seams (center front to side fronts). Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the center. Clip the seam allowance at the round marks; overlock the upper edge between the round marks (the keyhole opening), turn it to the wrong side and topstitch. Attach the yoke to the front. Overlock the seam allowance, simultaneously overlocking the free edge of the yoke, and press towards the yoke. Topstitch the seam allowance and the open edge of the yoke onto the yoke 0.5 cm from the attachment seam.
Stitch the back princess seams (center backs to side backs). Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the center. Stitch and overlock the center back seam. Press the seam allowance to the left side.
Stitch the side and shoulder seams. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
Overlock the neckline seam allowances. Fold the seam allowances inwards and topstitch.
Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the back. Set the sleeve into the armhole, aligning the notches.
Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
