Pattern #4191
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics with elastane added, made from natural or blended fibers. You will also need: elastic lace 10 cm wide, decorative piping (approximate length indicated on the upper front pattern piece), bias binding.

CUTTER'S MUST

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: dress hem allowance – 2 cm, sleeve hem allowance – 0 cm, all other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). ATTENTION! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.

  • From main fabric:
    • Front piece 1 - 1 piece
    • Front piece 2 - 1 piece
    • Front piece 3 - 1 piece
    • Front piece 4 - 1 piece
    • Front piece 5 – 1 piece
    • Lower front piece - 1 piece
    • Back piece – 2 pieces
  • From lace:
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Stitch darts on the back. Press seam allowances towards the center. Stitch and overcast the center back seam. Press seam allowance to the left side. (If the material is not elastic enough, insert a zipper into the center back seam).
  2. Stitch dart on front piece 2. Press seam allowance upwards.
  3. Cut lace according to the markings on the front piece. Secure lace to the front pieces along the open edges.
  4. Stitch and overcast the front princess seams, starting from the bottom, inserting decorative piping between the pieces. Press seams upwards and overcast.
  5. Stitch the right shoulder seam. Overcast seam allowance and press towards the back.
  6. Cut bias binding equal to the neckline length. Fold bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place binding along the neckline edge, right sides together, and stitch, then fold binding to the wrong side, clip seams, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press seam. Stitch the left shoulder seam. Overcast seam allowance and press towards the back.
  7. Set sleeves into armholes. Overcast seam allowances. Finish the lower part of the armhole with bias binding. Stitch and overcast side seams.
  8. Overcast the dress hem, fold inwards, and hem with blind stitches.
