Cropped Double-Breasted Jacket

Pattern #4190
Tech. Description

Cropped Double-Breasted Jacket

Introducing a sophisticated women's cropped jacket pattern, distinguished by its double-breasted front, unique shaped neckline, and precisely tailored silhouette.

When To Wear

This jacket offers a versatile and chic statement, perfect for:

  • Professional Attire: Elevates office wear with a modern, polished look.
  • Smart Casual Outings: Adds tailored sophistication to everyday ensembles.
  • Evening & Social Events: a stylish alternative to a traditional blazer or cardigan for a refined appearance.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: a tailored, fitted silhouette that is cropped in length and accentuates the waist.

Neckline: Features a distinctive shaped, collarless V-neckline that gently sweeps upwards at the center front.

Closure: Double-breasted front closure secured with six buttons, providing a classic yet contemporary aesthetic.

Sleeves: Long, set-in sleeves with a two-piece construction for a tailored and comfortable fit.

Front: Defined by shaping seams and the elegant overlap of the double-breasted placket.

Back: Comprises multiple vertical seams – a center back seam and side back panels – contributing to a sculpted and fitted design.

Hem: Cropped at the waistline, with a subtly curved hemline at the front and a gently shaped back.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Requires confident sewing skills, including precise seaming for a tailored fit, setting two-piece sleeves, constructing a full lining, and working with double-breasted closures.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose fabrics that offer both structure and drape to best showcase the tailored design:

  • Lightweight suiting fabric made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing
  • Firm lining fabric
  • 6 buttons
  • Shoulder pads
  • Sleeve heads
