Fabric recommendations: suiting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: fusible interlining; 1 concealed zipper; lining fabric.
CUTTER'S MUST
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for top and lining – 2 cm, other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need. ATTENTION! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.
- From main fabric:
- Front panel – 1 piece
- Back panel – 1 piece
- Side upper part – 1 piece
- Front facing – 1 piece
- Back facing – 1 piece
- From lining fabric:
- Front lining – 1 piece
- Back lining – 1 piece
- From fusible interlining:
- Front facing – 1 piece
- Back facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce facings with fusible interlining.
- Cut off the corner on the front panel pattern as indicated by the marks. Form the lower pleat. Stitch the upper side piece to the front panel. Clip the allowance at the corner and overcast.
- Form the upper pleat and secure it along the upper edge.
- Overcast the side edges. Stitch the right side edge, press allowances open. Stitch the left side edge from the mark downwards. Press allowance open. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the right side edge of the facings. Press allowance open. Overcast and stitch the side edges of the lining similar to the main fabric pieces. Form pleats on the back lining. Stitch the facing to the lining. Press allowance downwards. Stitch the facings to the upper edges of the skirt. Fold the allowance onto the facing and topstitch 0.2 cm from the seam. Hand-stitch the side edges of the facing and lining to the zipper.
- Fold the bottom hem allowance of the lining twice by 1 cm and topstitch. Overcast the bottom hem allowance of the skirt, fold inwards, press, and hand-stitch with blind stitches.
