Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances; if the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 3 cm, other seams – 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- Fuse interlining to the front facings, back neckline facing, and outer collar stand.
- Stitch the center seam of the back sleeve parts. Press seams open.
- Stitch the darts on the front. Press dart folds upwards.
- Attach the back sleeve to the back, press seam allowances towards the sleeve. Topstitch along the seam at 0.7 cm. Attach the front sleeve to the front, press seam allowances towards the sleeve. Topstitch along the seam at 0.7 cm. Stitch the upper sleeve seam. Press seam allowances towards the front. Topstitch along the seam at 0.7 cm.
- Attach the back facing to the front facings, press seams open. Stitch the inner collar stand to the neckline of the facings and front facings. Clip and press seams open.
- Stitch the outer collar stand to the neckline of the main garment. Clip and press seams open.
- Place the front facing, facing, and collar stand on the right side of the garment and stitch the front edge and collar stand. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn right side out, and straighten.
- Stitch the lining pieces similarly to the main fabric pieces, leaving an opening in the lower seam of the right sleeve. Attach the lining to the inner edges of the front facings and the back neckline facing. Secure the seam allowances of the collar stand attachment close to the seams. Stitch the lower corner of the front edge, trim corners. Mark and press the garment hem to the wrong side. Stitch the lining to the garment hem and sleeve hems. Turn the garment right side out through the opening in the sleeve and stitch the technical opening closed. Topstitch along the front edge, garment hem, collar, and sleeve hems at 0.7 cm from the edge.
- On the right front, overlock buttonholes; on the left front, sew on buttons.
