Cropped Gathered 3/4 Sleeve Bolero

Introducing a sophisticated women's bolero pattern featuring a cropped silhouette, elegant stitched front pleats below a yoke with a cut-on standing collar, and three-quarter length sleeves, designed to be fully lined for a polished finish.

When To Wear

This bolero is designed for stylish layering, making it a perfect choice for:

  • Formal Events & Dinners: Ideal as a chic cover-up over elegant dresses or sophisticated tops.
  • Evening & Cocktail Attire: Adds a refined touch and a layer of warmth to your ensemble for special occasions.
  • Bridal & Ceremonial Wear: Offers a graceful and modest complement to sleeveless gowns or dresses.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Cropped, open-front bolero designed to sit above the natural waist.

Neckline & Front: Features an elegant open front with rounded front edges and a standing collar cut in one with the shoulder yoke; stitched pleats below the yoke form a box pleat on each front.

Closure: Designed with an open front for effortless layering, without any closures.

Sleeves: Three-quarter length, two-piece set-in sleeves with shoulder pads and sleeve heads for a tailored fit.

Back: Clean back design with vertical darts for subtle shaping.

Lining: Fully lined construction ensures a luxurious feel and a neat interior finish.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Requires confident sewing skills including stitching pleats, setting two-piece sleeves with ease, constructing a cut-on collar with facings, and assembling a fully lined garment with tailoring notions.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose medium-weight fabrics with good drape and a smooth finish, such as:

  • Silk suiting fabrics (natural or blended fibers)

Additional Supplies

  • Lining fabric
  • Fusible interfacing
  • Shoulder pads
  • Sleeve heads

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for sleeve hem 3.5 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:

    • Lower Sleeve – 2 pieces
