Fabric Recommendations

Select knit fabrics with good drape and stretch for comfort and to enhance the fluidity of the ruffles and flounce:

  • Knit fabrics with medium to high stretch
  • Natural fiber knits (e.g., cotton jersey, rayon jersey)
  • Blended fiber knits

Additional Supplies

No additional notions are required.

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Armhole seam allowance - 1.5 cm, hem allowance – 1.5 cm, outer ruffle edge – 0 cm, flounce edge – 0 cm, other seams 0.7 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Note: Markings on the patterns are on the right side.

  • From main fabric:
    • Front – 1 piece
    • Back – 1 piece
    • Ruffle – 1 piece
    • Flounce – 1 piece

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Mark and stitch the darts on the front. Trim the bulk with an overlocker.
  2. Overlock the edges of the flounce with a rolled hem. Stitch along the inner edge of the flounce with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Place the flounce on the front and topstitch along the upper edge, interrupting the stitching at the curves (approximate stitching diagram is provided on the front pattern piece).
  3. Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Overlock the allowances and press towards the back.
  4. Stitch the ruffle edge. Overlock the allowance. Stitch along the inner edge with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Place the ruffle right side to the wrong side of the blouse and attach. Overlock the allowance. Turn the ruffle to the right side.
  5. Overlock the armhole. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch.
  6. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
