Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: silk satin fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: elastic tape 3 cm wide (approximate length indicated on the back pattern piece), elastic tape 0.5 cm wide.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm, sleeve hem – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Placket – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Stitch the sleeve seam. Finish the allowance and press it towards the back. Fold the sleeve hem twice by 1 cm and topstitch, leaving an opening for the elastic. Insert the elastic and secure the ends.
- Set the back part of the sleeve into the back armhole. Finish the allowances and press them towards the sleeve.
- Along the upper edge of the back and the front part of the sleeve, sew a row of stitches with loosely tensioned stitches and gather.
- Stitch the placket into a loop. Fold the placket in half lengthwise and press. Secure the ends of the elastic. Insert the elastic into the placket. Pin the placket to the bolero, stretching the elastic. Attach the placket (the placket seam is located at the left side seam). Finish the placket attachment seam.
