Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, concealed zipper, elastic tape 1 cm wide.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2.0 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part - 2 pieces
    • Lower back part - 2 pieces
    • Upper front part - 1 piece with fold
    • Lower front part - 1 piece with fold
    • Sleeve — 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the upper back and front parts, press the seam allowances towards the center.
  3. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
  4. Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  5. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch shoulder seams of the back and front neckline facings, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing on the right side of the garment and stitch the neckline. Clip seam allowances, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Stitch the facing to the shoulder seams and the zipper tape.
  7. Cut elastic tape equal to shoulder circumference +8 cm. Stitch the tape to the sleeve from the wrong side with a double stitch.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back, serge. Along the sleeve cap, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Set sleeves into armholes, press seam allowances and serge.
  9. Serge the lower edge of the sleeve. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch, creating a casing. Thread elastic tape through the casing, adjust length and secure ends.
  10. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
