Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! TIP: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Press front placket 2 lengthwise in the middle, right side out. Fold front placket 1 lengthwise in the middle, right side in, insert placket 2 between the pieces and stitch. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, and press.
- Fold back neckline facing pieces right sides together and stitch the neckline edge, starting and ending the stitch precisely at the shoulder seam line. Stitch the shoulder seam of the back neckline facing and front placket 1, inserting the placket between the facing pieces. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, and press.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the neckline facing and front plackets into the main garment neckline, press allowances and serge.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press allowances and serge.
- Serge the hem allowance of the bottom and sleeves, fold to the wrong side and topstitch.
