Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 5 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2 cm; all other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve cap – 4 pieces
    • Right collar — 2 pieces
    • Left collar – 2 pieces
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Right collar — 1 piece
    • Left collar – 1 piece
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Interface pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch bust darts, press seam allowances upwards.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Stitch center seams of left and right collars. Press seam allowances open. Place upper collar with lower collar right sides together, stitch outer edge of collar and end of left side. Trim seams, turn collar right side out, shape and press. Create and secure a pleat at the neckline edge on the right side according to the technical drawing. Attach collar to neckline. Attach the right extended side to the front edge.
  5. Stitch shoulder seams of back neckline facing and front facing, press seam allowances open. Serge outer edge. Place facing and front facing on the right side of the garment and stitch neckline and front edges. Clip seam allowances, trim corners, turn facings and front facing to the wrong side and press. Stitch facing to shoulder seams.
  6. Place sleeve caps right sides together and stitch outer edges. Trim seam allowances, turn right side out and press. Attach sleeve caps to armholes. Press seam allowances and serge.
  7. Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  8. Cut (if not ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and length equal to the length of the lower part of the armhole + 4 cm. Fold bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place binding with armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Clip seam allowances. Fold binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press seam.
  9. Fold the bottom edge of the garment inwards by 1 cm, then another 1 cm and topstitch.
  10. On the right front, serge buttonholes, folding back the collar, on the left – sew on buttons.
