Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Interface pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Overlock the inner edge of the left placket. Place the left placket on the left front, right sides together, and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances, turn the placket to the wrong side, and press. Topstitch onto the main piece along the marked line.
  3. Place the right placket on the right front, right sides together, and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances, turn the placket to the wrong side, and press. Stitch the left front to the right placket, overlock allowances, catching the free edge of the placket. Smooth out the pieces, topstitch the right placket onto the front along the marked line, securing the left front.
  4. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  5. Place the upper collar on the lower collar, right sides together. Stitch the ends and outer edge of the collar. Trim seams. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Place collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the prepared collar between them, align edges, and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand attachment seam. Turn the prepared collar stand right side out and press. Stitch the upper collar stand with the collar into the neckline, turn under the open edge of the lower collar stand, and topstitch into the seam of the upper collar stand attachment.
  6. Set sleeves into open armholes, press allowances and overlock. Stitch side seams, simultaneously with sleeve seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  7. Overlock the bottom of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  8. On the right placket, make buttonholes; on the left front, sew on buttons.
