Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper, fusible interlining. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Bottom hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical parts).
CUTTER'S MUST
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front - 1 piece on fold
- Front lining – 1 piece on fold
- Back lining – 2 pieces
- From fusible interlining:
- Front lining – 1 piece on fold
- Back lining – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Interface the pieces with fusible interlining.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the upper part. Press shoulder seam allowances open. Overlock side seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Process the lining similarly. Overlock the bottom edge of the lining, fold inwards, and topstitch.
- Place the main fabric and lining right sides together and stitch the neckline. Clip the allowances, turn the lining inside out, and press.
- Stitch the armhole with the lining in two steps: first the front armhole, then the back armhole. Clip the allowance, press the seam.
- Secure the center edges of the main fabric and lining. Overlock the center edges separately. Stitch the center seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press the allowance open. Insert the zipper.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
