Sewing Instructions

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.

  1. Stitch darts on back and front pieces. Press waist dart depths towards the center, bust darts – upwards.
  2. Stitch the left and right lower back parts, press allowances towards the left and serge. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, press allowances upwards and serge.
  3. Attach the insert to the lower front, press allowances upwards and serge.
  4. Form and secure the inverted pleats on the lower front. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press allowances upwards and serge.
  5. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch the collar into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the collar lengthwise in half with the right side out and press. Attach the collar to the neckline, stretching slightly. Press and serge allowances.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press and serge allowances.
  8. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff lengthwise in half with the right side out and press. Attach the cuff to the sleeve hem, stretching slightly. Press and serge allowances.
  9. Serge the hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
