Sewing Instructions
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
- Stitch darts on back and front pieces. Press waist dart depths towards the center, bust darts – upwards.
- Stitch the left and right lower back parts, press allowances towards the left and serge. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Attach the insert to the lower front, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Form and secure the inverted pleats on the lower front. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the collar into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the collar lengthwise in half with the right side out and press. Attach the collar to the neckline, stretching slightly. Press and serge allowances.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press and serge allowances.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff lengthwise in half with the right side out and press. Attach the cuff to the sleeve hem, stretching slightly. Press and serge allowances.
- Serge the hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
