Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers with elastane. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, invisible zipper; decorative button.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve – 2 cm. Allowance for the neckline edge and the center edge of the floating detail – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). ATTENTION: Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 2 pieces
    • Front - 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Floating front part - 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING DETAILS, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Reinforce details with fusible interfacing. Fuse the neckline edge and the center edge of the floating detail.
  2. Stitch darts on back pieces, press allowances towards the center. Serge the center edges of the back separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper.
  3. Stitch darts on the front. Press bust dart allowances upwards, waist darts – towards the center.
  4. Stitch the dart on the floating detail. Press allowance upwards. Serge the neckline allowance, center and bottom edges of the floating detail. Fold allowances inwards and topstitch. Place the floating front part onto the right side of the front and secure along the side and shoulder edges.
  5. Stitch side and shoulder seams. Press allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch shoulder seams of facings. Press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing right side down onto the garment and stitch the neckline. Clip allowances, trim corners, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Attach the center allowances of the facing to the zipper tape. Secure at shoulder seams.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seam. Serge allowance and press towards the back. Set sleeves into armholes. Serge allowance and press.
  8. Serge the bottom edges of the garment and sleeves. Fold allowances to the wrong side and topstitch.
  9. Serge the buttonhole and sew on the button.
