Pattern #2387
Tech. Description

Knit Sweatshirt with Integrated Pocket and Cuffs

Introducing a comfortable knit sweatshirt pattern featuring a relaxed silhouette, an integrated front pocket design, and cozy integrated cuffs, all topped with a chic stand collar.

When To Wear

This versatile knit sweatshirt is designed for everyday comfort and casual styling, making it an excellent choice for:

  • Casual Everyday Wear: Ideal for relaxed daily activities, offering both comfort and modern style.
  • Smart-Casual Gatherings: Suitable for informal social events or brunches when paired with smart denim or trousers.
  • Cozy Layering: a perfect mid-layer for cooler seasons, easily dressed up or down.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: a relaxed, slightly boxy fit designed for comfort, falling at hip length.

Neckline: a comfortable, gently structured stand collar that provides warmth and a modern look.

Sleeves: Long sleeves finished with integrated cuffs for a clean, cohesive design.

Pockets: a distinctive integrated pocket construction across the front hem, secured with vertical topstitching.

Hem: a clean hem that incorporates the integrated front pocket, adding subtle structure.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Involves precise construction of integrated elements like the front pocket and cuffs, along with accurate collar setting and working with knit fabrics.

Fabric Recommendations

For the best drape and structure, choose knit fabrics that offer body and comfort:

  • Double-sided dense knit fabrics with low stretch, made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Bias tape (approximate length indicated on the front pattern piece)

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the sweatshirt bottom and sleeve, along the upper edge of the integrated pocket – 0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim allowances to 0.8 cm. Hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Bind the lower edge of the front with bias binding. Fold the integrated pocket upwards and secure with vertical stitches, according to the markings. Fasten the side edges together.

  4. Bind the sleeve hem with bias binding. Stitch the side seams strictly up to the marking line of the integrated cuff. Slash the allowance at the marking. Serge the allowance and press towards the back. Stitch the integrated cuff seam from the right side. Serge the allowance and press. 5. Stitch the collar stand seam. Press the allowance open. Fold the collar stand pieces right sides together and bind the upper edge. Slash the allowances. Turn the inner collar stand to the wrong side, straighten the seam and press. Attach the collar stand to the neckline, serge the allowance and press.
