Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 5 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance for the garment and sleeve hem — 1.5 cm, other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.

CUTTER'S MUST

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Attention! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 1 piece on fold
    • Back waistband — 1 piece
    • Lower back part — 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front part right — 1 piece
    • Upper front part left — 1 piece
    • Front waistband — 1 piece
    • Lower front part — 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve — 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing — 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing — 1 piece
    • Belt – 1 piece
    • Pocket bag – 4 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing — 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing — 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the bust dart on the right upper front part, press the dart depth upwards. Stitch the princess seam of the upper front part, press seam allowances, serge. Press the right upper front part along the center front line of the princess seam. Topstitch the right front part onto the left along the princess seam line.
  3. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the upper parts, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Place pocket bags onto the right side of the lower front and back parts and stitch. Serge seam allowances. Stitch the side seams of the lower parts, simultaneously stitching the pocket bags, press seam allowances towards the front and serge. Along the upper edge of the lower part, stitch a gathering stitch with loosened upper thread and gather.
  5. Stitch the right side seam of the back and front waistbands, press seam allowances open. Press the seam allowances of the upper and side edges to the wrong side. Topstitch the side seam allowances.
  6. Stitch the upper and lower parts of the garment, inserting the lower edge of the waistband between the pieces. Press seam allowances downwards and serge. Topstitch the upper side of the waistband onto the garment 0.1 cm from the edge, forming a casing.
  7. Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing on the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline, clip seam allowances at curves. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the edge.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches. Press seam allowances and serge.
  9. Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  10. Fold the belt in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch around the perimeter, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the belt right side out, straighten, press. Close the opening. Thread the belt through the casing.
  11. Sew on buttons, securing the front princess seam.
