CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- Upper back part – 2 pieces
- Lower back part - 2 pieces
- Upper front part – 2 pieces
- Lower front part - 2 pieces
- Central front part - 4 pieces
- Neckline facing - 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Belt - 2 pieces on fold
- From fusible interfacing:
- Neckline facing - 1 piece
- Central front part - 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce details with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch darts on the upper back parts, press allowances towards the center. Stitch darts on the upper front parts, press waist dart allowances towards the center, bust darts - upwards.
- Stitch the center seam of the upper and lower back parts, press allowances to the left side and overcast. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, press allowances upwards and overcast.
- Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press allowances upwards and overcast.
- Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Fold facing pieces wrong sides together and secure along the edges. Bind the neckline edge and lapel with bias binding. Fold the central front pieces wrong sides together and secure along the edges. Bind the lapel edge and front edge with bias binding. Place the facing on the central front piece and topstitch along the lapel line into the bias binding attachment seam.
- Attach the central front piece and facing to the main garment, press allowances towards the main piece and overcast. Topstitch bias binding onto the attachment seam.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances and overcast. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press allowances and overcast.
- Overcast the lower sleeve edge, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Bind the lower edge of the garment with bias binding.
- On the right front, overcast buttonholes, on the left - sew on buttons.
- Fold belt pieces wrong sides together and secure along the edges. Bind the belt perimeter with bias binding.
