Fabric recommendations: suiting fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: lining fabric; fusible interfacing; 5 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:

    • Front facing – 2 pieces

  • From lining fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Front – 2 pieces
    • Pocket bag – 4 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Strap – 2 pieces
    • Welt – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Attention! Back and front pieces from lining fabric are cut WITHOUT considering the width of the back neckline facing and front facing, respectively.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Fold the strap pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the long side and one short side. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn the straps right side out, and press.
  3. Stitch the center back seam, press seam allowances open. Stitch the waist darts, inserting the straps into them. Press dart depths towards the side seams.
  4. Fold the welt pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short sides. Turn right side out, press. Stitch the dart from the pocket mark to the side seam, trim seam allowances to 1 cm, tapering to nothing at the point, press open. Stitch the lower pocket bag to the wrong side of the welt. Attach the welt to the front along the lower dart line. Attach the upper pocket bag to the front along the upper dart line. Make diagonal cuts 1-1.5 cm from the end of the pocket. Turn the pocket bags to the wrong side. Secure the pocket ends from the wrong side with a double backstitch at the base of the corners. Topstitch the welt to the garment along the short sides from the right side. Stitch the pocket bag edges.
  5. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances open.
  6. Stitch shoulder edges of the neckline facing and front facings, press seam allowances open. Stitch the lining pieces, leaving an opening in the left side seam, press seam allowances open. Attach the lining to the front facings and back neckline facing.
  7. Place the lining on the right side of the front, right side down, and stitch all around along the hemline, front edge, and neckline. Clip seam allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the garment right side out.
  8. Finish armholes in two steps: first the back armhole, then the front armhole. Stitch the technical opening closed.
  9. On the right front, make buttonholes, and on the left front, sew on buttons. Make a buttonhole and sew on a button on the strap.
