CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- Center panel – 2 QTY
- SIDE PANEL – 2 QTY
- Back half – 1 QTY
- From LINING:
- Center panel – 2 QTY
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also sew the pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the LINING pieces. Press the seam. Stitch the center panels of the main fabric pieces. Press the seam. Fold the main fabric with the LINING wrong sides together and secure along the relief edges and the leg opening.
- Attach the SIDE PANELs to the center panels. Press the seam towards the SIDE PANEL and topstitch.
- Stitch the bottom edge. Press the seam and topstitch. Stitch the side edges. Press the seam.
- Stitch the wide elastic into a ring with a lapped seam. Attach the elastic to the upper edge of the briefs, stretching it slightly. Fold the upper SEAM ALLOWANCES together with the elastic inwards and topstitch with a twin stitch.
- Cut the narrow elastic into 2 equal parts and stitch each into a ring. Attach the elastic to the leg opening, stretching it slightly. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES together with the elastic inwards and topstitch with a twin stitch (or on a coverstitch machine).
