Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to corresponding pieces. Also, the all-in-one SEAM ALLOWANCE of the upper edge of the center FRONT PANEL.
  2. Stitch the side and middle BACK PANELs, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the middle part and overcast. Stitch the side and middle FRONT PANELs, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the middle part and overcast. Stitch the side edges, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
  3. Overcast the lower edge of the insert, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches. Form pleats according to markings. Attach the insert to the dress, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and overcast.
  4. Overcast the middle edge of the BACK PANEL. Stitch the middle edge of the BACK PANEL from the upper edge to the upper mark, from the lower mark to the bottom, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Insert the ZIPPER into the slit. Overcast the lower edge. Also overcast the lower edge of the center FRONT PANEL.
  5. Stitch the center and middle BACK PANELs, folding the lower SEAM ALLOWANCE of the center part to the right side and wrapping it around the middle part, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center and overcast. Turn out and straighten the lower corner. Stitch the center and middle FRONT PANELs from the upper edge mark downwards, folding the lower SEAM ALLOWANCE of the center part to the right side and wrapping it around the middle part. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at the upper mark, press towards the center and overcast. Turn out and straighten the lower corner.
  6. Stitch BACK PANEL FACING 1 and BACK PANEL FACING 2 together, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch the middle edge of the BACK PANEL FACING, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch the shoulder edges of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL FACINGs, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
  7. Place the FACING with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL from mark to mark, clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves. Stitch the all-in-one FACING of the center FRONT PANEL and the lower section of the FRONT PANEL FACING, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open in this section. Overcast the outer edge of the FACINGs all around. Turn the FACING to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure the FACING to the seams with a few stitches.
  8. Stitch the SLEEVE edge, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the elbow part and overcast. Set the SLEEVEs into the armholes according to NOTCHES, press SEAM ALLOWANCES and overcast.
  9. Overcast the lower edge of the SLEEVE, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches. Also hem the unfinished lower sections of the main garment.
