  • 5. Upper BACK PANEL – QTY 2
  • 6. BACK PANEL Yoke – QTY 2
  • 7. Lower center BACK PANEL – QTY 2
  • 8. Lower SIDE PANEL of BACK PANEL – QTY 2
  • The LINING is cut according to the main pattern pieces. The LINING is 5 cm shorter than the main garment.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Mark and stitch darts on the upper BACK PANEL. Press darts towards the center back. Attach the yoke to the BACK PANEL. Overcast the SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the yoke.
  2. Stitch the lower center and SIDE PANELs of the BACK PANEL. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center back and overcast. Attach the lower BACK PANEL to the BACK PANEL yoke. Overcast the SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the yoke. Overcast the center edges of the BACK PANEL. Stitch the center seam from the NOTCH for the ZIPPER to the slit. Press the seam open, pressing the slit for the ZIPPER. Insert the ZIPPER.
  3. Along the lower edge of the upper FRONT PANEL, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather between the NOTCHES. Attach the yoke to the FRONT PANEL. Overcast the SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the yoke. Stitch the lower FRONT PANELs. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center front and overcast. Attach the lower FRONT PANEL to the yoke. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the yoke and overcast.
  4. Stitch the side edges. Overcast the SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the BACK PANEL.
  5. Stitch the LINING pieces similarly to the main garment pieces. Place the main garment pieces and LINING right sides together, aligning the neckline edges of the BACK PANEL. Stop 5 mm before the edges of the invisible fastener, fold back the LINING and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER and pin them to the neckline edge over the LINING. Stitch the neckline edge. Clip the SEAM ALLOWANCES at the curves, turn the pieces right side out and press. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the fastener to the wrong side. Secure the BACK PANEL LINING to the ZIPPER tape. Press the pieces.
  6. Stitch the armhole edge with the LINING. Clip the SEAM ALLOWANCES, turn right side out and press. Insert the back straps between the main garment pieces and the FRONT PANEL LINING. Stitch the FRONT PANEL neckline, simultaneously stitching in the straps. Turn the pieces right side out and press.
  7. Overcast the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the lower edge of the sundress, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
  8. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the lower edge of the LINING to the wrong side twice by 1 cm and topstitch.
