CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
- FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY on fold
- YOKE – 2 QTY
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics should be sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim SEAM ALLOWANCES to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. Alternatively, pieces can be sewn directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the YOKE along the neckline and armhole edges, turn right side out, and press.
- Form and secure the pleats according to the markings. Fold the BIAS BINDING in half lengthwise with the right side out and press. Place the TRIM STRIP with the armhole edge of the FRONT PANEL right sides together and stitch, then fold the TRIM STRIP to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece.
- Attach the YOKE to the FRONT PANEL, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the YOKE and serge.
- Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES for the neckline and armhole of the BACK PANEL. Fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES. Stitch the shoulder edges, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Serge the neckline edges of the BACK PANEL and the shaped armhole edges, clip the armhole edge at the corner, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Stitch the side edges, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Serge the bottom of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
