Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the Plackets, the upper Collar and the outer Stand Collar.
- Place the upper and under Collar right sides together. Stitch the ends and the outer edge of the collar. Trim the seam allowances. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Place the Stand Collar pieces right sides together, insert the prepared collar between them, align the notches, and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the stand. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked line of the stand attachment seam. Turn the prepared collar right side out and press.
- On the Lower Front, fold and stitch the pleats along the marked lines. Note: the pleat underlay faces the front edge, and the folds face the side seam. Press the pleats.
- Along the lower edge of the Upper Front, between the notches, run a line of long, loose stitches and gather. Stitch the Upper Front to the Lower Front. Overlock the seam and press it upwards.
- Place the plackets right sides together and stitch the pieces along the outer edge. Turn the plackets right side out and press. Attach the outer placket to the front. Press the seam towards the placket. Fold the inner placket inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Stitch the darts on the Center Back pieces. Press the darts towards the center seam. Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the seam and press. Stitch the Back Yoke to the back. Overlock the seam and press upwards.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Overlock the seams and press them towards the back.
- Stitch the outer stand with the collar to the neckline, turn under the open edge of the inner stand and topstitch into the attachment seam of the upper stand.
- Stitch and overlock the sleeve seams. Finish the sleeve hem with a rolled hem. Sew elastic 1.5 cm from the bottom. The elastic length equals the upper arm circumference minus 1 cm. Along the sleeve cap, stitch with loose stitches and gather. Attach the sleeves to the armholes. Overlock the seam and press towards the sleeve.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
- On the right front, make buttonholes; on the left, sew on buttons.
