Faux Fur Collared Jacket

When To Wear

As a warm jacket in autumn and winter.
Over knitwear with jeans or trousers, or over dresses.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Straight and boxy, with wide set-in sleeves.

Length: Hip length.

Collar: Shirt-style collar cut as an upper and an under collar, stitched along the ends and outer edge and set into the neckline with the facings.

Closure: Edge to edge, no visible fastening: three fur hooks under the right front edge, thread loops on the left front.

Front: Front yoke seamed to the lower front; facings turned inside.

Sleeves: One-piece set-in sleeves; the underarm seam and side seam are stitched in one pass.

Attention: The front yoke and lower front parts are cut without considering the width of the facing.

Sewing Instructions

Attach the facing to the lower pocket bag. Place the pocket bag with the facing on the right side of the back according to the notches, place the upper pocket bag on the front right side down and attach. Fold back the seam and topstitch it onto the pocket bag.
Attach the back yoke to the lower back.
Attach the front yoke to the lower front parts.
Stitch the shoulder seam allowances of the jacket.
Fold the collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the ends and the outer edge. Turn the collar right side out. Baste the collar into the neckline.
Set the sleeves into the armholes.
Stitch the sleeve edge and the side edge together with the pocket bags in one seam.
The lining assembly is similar to the main garment assembly: attach the yoke to the back, attach the front yoke to the front. Stitch the side seam allowances and sleeve seam allowances, leaving an opening in the front right sleeve seam for subsequent turning out. Stitch the shoulder seam allowances from the armhole edges for approximately 5 cm. Attach the front lining to the facing edges. Stitch the shoulder seam allowances to the end. Set the sleeves into the armholes.
Fold the lining and facings with the jacket right sides together and stitch the neckline. Attach the lower edges of the facings to the front strictly along the marked hemline. Trim the seam allowances of the lower corners of the front edge.
Attach the lining to the bottom of the jacket and the bottom of the sleeves. Turn the jacket right side out through the opening in the sleeve. Stitch the opening in the sleeve.
Sew fur hooks under the edge of the right front. Overlap the right front over the left front, aligning the center lines, and mark the positions for the loops. Sew the loops to the left front.
