ATTENTION: Before interfacing faux leather pieces, test on a scrap piece.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the FRONT FACING, COLLAR STAND, BACK WAISTBAND, and FRONT WAISTBAND.
- Stitch the bust darts on the FRONT PANEL. Clip the dart depths, press down, and topstitch.
- Stitch FRONT YOKE 1 to FRONT YOKE 2, topstitch SEAM ALLOWANCES onto YOKE 1. Stitch FRONT YOKE 3 to FRONT YOKE 2, topstitch SEAM ALLOWANCES onto YOKE 2. Stitch the assembled yoke to the FRONT PANEL, topstitch SEAM ALLOWANCES onto the yoke.
- Stitch BACK YOKE 1 to BACK YOKE 2, topstitch SEAM ALLOWANCES onto YOKE 1. Stitch BACK YOKE 3 to BACK YOKE 2, topstitch SEAM ALLOWANCES onto YOKE 2. Stitch the assembled yoke to the BACK PANEL, topstitch SEAM ALLOWANCES onto the yoke. Stitch the center back seam of the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES to the left side and topstitch.
- Mark the ZIPPER placement on the patch pockets. Cut an opening along the marking, make diagonal cuts 1-1.5 cm from the ends of the intended closure. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES to the wrong side, place the ZIPPER under the opening so that the teeth are visible, and stitch around the perimeter 0.2 cm from the edge. Fold the edges of the patch pockets to the wrong side and topstitch according to the marking on the FRONT PANELS and left SLEEVE.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams. Press seams open and glue.
- Stitch the front waistband pieces to the back waistband pieces. Press seams open and glue. Stitch the outer waistband to the bottom edge of the jacket. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES down and topstitch.
- Fold the FRONT PANELS right sides together and align the edges, measuring the length of the front edges. Stitch the ZIPPER to the edge of the front opening.
- Fold the COLLAR STAND in half lengthwise, right sides together. Stitch the short edge and the shaped edge up to the first NOTCH. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at the corners. Turn the COLLAR STAND right side out. Topstitch along the edge.
- Baste the COLLAR STAND into the jacket neckline.
- Stitch the elbow seam of the SLEEVE. Press the seam towards the upper part and topstitch. Press up the bottom of the SLEEVE. Stitch the front seam of the SLEEVE, folding back the hem allowance. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes according to the NOTCHES. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the jacket and topstitch.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the FRONT FACING and NECK FACING. On the LINING fabric pieces, stitch the seams and set in the SLEEVES, leaving an opening in the right front SLEEVE seam. Press the LINING SEAM ALLOWANCES. Stitch the LINING to the inner edges of the FRONT FACINGS and NECK FACING. Stitch the inner waistband to the LINING.
- Fold the finished LINING with the jacket right sides together, pin, and stitch the bottom edge of the garment, the front edge, and set in the COLLAR STAND in one seam. Stitch the bottom of the SLEEVE with the LINING. Turn the jacket right side out through the opening in the SLEEVE. Stitch the opening in the SLEEVE. Topstitch along the ZIPPER and the bottom edge. Divide the lower waistband into three parts and topstitch according to the diagram.
- Attach a snap to the COLLAR STAND.
