Sewing Instructions
- Fuse the faux leather pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the bust darts on the Front pieces.
- Stitch the Underlay Piece to the Lower Pocket Bag. Place the Lower Pocket Bag with the underlay on the right side of the Back at the notches, and the Upper Pocket Bag on the Front, right side down, and stitch. Press the seam allowances towards the pocket bag and topstitch them to it.
- Stitch the Front Sleeve to the Front. Stitch the Back Sleeve to the Back.
- Stitch the shoulder seams together with the upper sleeve seams.
- Press the Cuff in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Stitch the outer layer of the cuff to the lower edge of the sleeve.
- Stitch the underarm sleeve seam and the side seam, together with the pocket bags, in one continuous seam.
- Stitch the Lower Front Placket pieces to the Back Placket. Press the band in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Stitch the outer layer of the band to the lower edge of the jacket.
- Stitch the zipper to the edges of the two outer Center Front Placket pieces. Stitch these plackets to the front edges, stopping at the seam allowance of the lower edge.
- Stitch the center seam of the Hood. Press the Hood Facing in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Stitch the outer layer of the facing to the front edge of the hood. Fold the facing in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the lower corners, without catching the seam allowance of its inner edge. Trim the seam allowances at the corners and turn the facing right side out.
- Set the hood into the jacket neckline.
- Sew the lining pieces in the same way as the outer pieces, leaving an opening in the underarm seam of the left sleeve for turning. Stitch the lining to the free edge of the lower band, right sides together. Stitch the two inner Center Front Placket pieces to the front edges of the lining, stopping at the seam allowance of the lower edge.
- Place the lining and jacket right sides together and stitch the lower corner of the center front placket, the front edge and the inner edge of the hood. Stitch the lining to the sleeve hems. Turn the jacket right side out through the opening in the sleeve. Secure the lining to the jacket along the center hood seam, the hood facing, the hood seam, the cuffs and the lower band. Stitch the opening in the sleeve lining closed.
- Topstitch along the zipper to secure the layers.
