Sewing Instructions

  1. Overlock the upper edges of the left and right FRONT PANELS. Press the upper edges to the wrong side and topstitch.
  2. Create pleats on the right FRONT PANEL. Place the right FRONT PANEL over the left and secure along the bottom and side edges.
  3. Stitch the side seams of the sundress BODICE. Press the seams towards the BACK PANEL and overlock.
  4. Stitch the side seams of the skirt. Press the seams towards the BACK SKIRT HALF and overlock.
  5. Along the upper edge of the lower skirt halves, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches. Gather the edge to the length of the lower edge of the upper sundress parts, distributing the gathers evenly. Attach the upper part of the sundress to the skirt halves. Press the seam upwards and overlock.
  6. Overlock the center edges of the BACK PANEL. Stitch the center back seam from the mark downwards. Press the seam open, pressing the SEAM ALLOWANCE for the fastener.
  7. Place the ZIPPER under the SEAM ALLOWANCES so that the teeth are not visible and stitch in place.
  8. Mark the armhole line on the FRONT PANEL in its finished form. Stitch along this line with loosely tensioned stitches. Gather the edge to the desired length.
  9. Cut 2 BIAS BINDINGS 4 cm wide and approximately equal to the length indicated on the pattern pieces. Press the BIAS BINDINGS in half lengthwise, right side out. Then unfold and press the longitudinal edges towards the marked center line. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCE of the back neckline and FRONT PANEL armhole and bind this edge with the BIAS BINDING, simultaneously finishing the straps.
  10. Put on the sundress, adjust the length of the straps and secure them to the BACK PANEL.
  11. Press the hem allowance of the sundress to the wrong side, fold and topstitch.
